Canadian overclocker SaltyCroissant established a new world record for DDR5 memory frequency, surpassing previous benchmarks with remarkable speed achievements. The overclocker collaborated with industry experts, including HiCookie from Gigabyte, Corsair's Sofos, and Splave, to reach this milestone. Their setup featured a Gigabyte Z790 AORUS Tachyon ICE motherboard, paired with Corsair DDR5 Vengeance memory and an Intel Core i7-12700 K processor. Liquid nitrogen cooling covered the entire upper motherboard section to maintain extreme temperatures during testing. The official validation recorded 12,920.2 MT/s, while unofficial results showed speeds of 13,020 MT/s.
