Ruth Rujoki Mushabe unseated the sitting parliamentarian, Jovanice Twinobusingye, during the National Resistance Movement primaries for the Kiruhura District Woman MP position. Rujoki captured 24,757 ballots while Twinobusingye secured 21,205 votes among party members. Three additional candidates split the remaining support, with Savina Ninsiima earning 1,399 votes. Caroline Mwijuka Amutuhaire and Allen Kagina Natukunda received 971 and 872 votes, respectively. Rujoki pledged unwavering service to constituents after her victory declaration.
