A family fight has erupted over naming Uganda's newest football stadium. The relatives of Dr James Rujumba want the massive Hoima Stadium named after their late father. They gave away 10 acres of land where the stadium stands and believe this earns them naming rights. The project costs a whopping $129 million and should finish before the end of 2025.
Dr Rujumba made history as East Africa's first animal doctor back when Uganda was still under British rule. He traveled across the country treating sick animals and helping farmers. The man also played a key role when Uganda fought for independence from Britain. He even helped create dictionaries and translated religious books into local languages.
