Kampala Queens cruise to 3-0 win over Wakiso Hill
Kampala Queens crushed Wakiso Hill 3-0 at St Mary's Stadium on Saturday, putting them closer to grabbing the FUFA Women's Super League title this season. Nobody scored during the first half, but Kampala Queens bounced back with more energy after the break. Peace Muduwa finally broke through at minute 71, sliding the ball right past goalie Halima Kasuubo. Referee Diana Murungi kicked out Kampala Queen's coach, Asefa Firew Hailegebreal, during the game when he blew up at the assistant referee about some questionable calls. After their win, Nagadya admitted the team started shaky but...
M23 exits Walikale centre as town faces uncertainty
Rebels from the AFC/M23 group left Walikale Centre just days after taking over this key town in eastern Congo. They put out a message from Goma on Saturday saying they backed peace talks, but many wonder about their real reasons for leaving. Walikale has many minerals that make it valuable in North Kivu. People feared the rebels might push toward Kisangani next. The group claims it moved its fighters as part of a promise made on February 22, 2025. Their spokesman, Lawrence Kanyuka, signed the statement about pulling back. The world has been putting more pressure on both the rebels and Rwanda lately. Many countries and the UN say Rwanda helps these fighters, though Rwanda denies this claim. The timing makes some think outside pressure...

Warriors set for qualifier showdown with Super Eagles
Zimbabwe's national soccer team landed in Lagos yesterday evening. They plan to travel to Uyo this morning for their match against Nigeria. The Warriors currently sit last in Group C after playing five games. They have earned just three points during their campaign. Their recent match ended with a 2-2 tie when they faced Benin at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. That game took place Thursday on South African soil since Zimbabwe plays home games there. Nigeria looks much stronger after its recent victory against Rwanda. The Super Eagles won 2-0 at home yesterday, pushing their...
