A delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo is visiting Kenya this week. They want to learn about technical and vocational education and training, or TVET.
The DRC's Minister of Technical and Vocational Education leads the group. His name is Ghislain Thierry Maguessa Ebome.
Kenya's Education Minister, Julius Ogamba, said they discussed working together more on TVET. The goal is to give youth access to good, relevant TVET programs.
The DRC team will tour some Kenyan TVET schools during their stay.

A shooting occurred at a school campus in central Sweden on Tuesday. At least six people were hurt, according to Orebro regional authorities.
Five of the six injured suffered gunshot wounds. Four underwent surgery. The other two had minor injuries. Police believe one of the hospitalized individuals is the shooter.

The government has allocated Sh3.32 billion for the upkeep of first and second-year university students during the 2024/2025 academic year, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has revealed.
The funds, distributed through the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), were fully disbursed by January 31, 2025. "These upkeep loans, ranging from Sh40,000 to Sh60,000 per student, are essential for supporting student welfare," Ogamba stated in a release.
Ogamba clarified that the disbursements were part of the financial allocations approved in July 2024, as outlined in the current financial year's budget framework.

A bus crash on Monday injured dozens of workers in Lesotho. The bus was taking SUN JV employees back to a project site.
It overturned near the Afri Ski Resort in Botha Bothe. The resort is in Lesotho's mountains.
SUN JV is a contractor for the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP). The LHWP confirmed the accident in a statement.
Rescue teams came from the LHWP and a nearby mine. They took 56 hurt workers to a clinic at the mine.
Doctors sent 35 injured people to a hospital in Mokhotlong and 13 to a clinic at SUN JV's site.
Four other workers went to Butha Buthe for care. Four more were taken to Maseru, the capital.

Japan Mntambo, the director of consular affairs in Lesotho's foreign ministry, has been suspended from his job.
Mntambo is accused of misusing his position. Officials say he improperly helped a lawmaker get a U.S. visa.
The ministry sent Mntambo a letter about his suspension. It said he assisted with Dr. Tšepo Lipholo's "private travel" to America last week.
The letter stated, "The ministry does not arrange private trips abroad for citizens. Your actions broke the rules."
