The exam tested nearly 800,000 students in math, English, science, and social studies. More students took the PLE in 2024 than in 2023. There were 797,444 students in total, up 6.4% from 749,347. Girls made up 52.5% of test-takers. The PLE also had more students with special needs in 2024: 3,328, an increase of 25.5% from 2,652 in 2023.
