kupereka

Definition: this is a cultural practice that is normally done to send off a newly married woman to her husband's home after an official roora ceremony has taken place.

kusungira

Definition: this is when a married woman who is pregnant for the first time is temporarily brought back to her parent's home from the time she is in her 2nd trimester right until she has delivered her baby in her 3rd trimester.

Note: kusungira is also known in ChiShona as masungiro.

Nevertheless, just remember that kupereka happens after a lobola ceremony and kusungira happens after a woman is pregnant with her first child, and hopefully, you don't confuse the two as some people do—you know the slow ones...
