A million fans actually paid for Techland's glorified DLC

Alinea Analytics reports that Dying Light: The Beast achieved over one million Steam purchases and exceeded 1.5 million total sales. Techland previously announced one million pre-orders before release, yet this figure encompassed Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition owners who received automatic access. Steam recorded one million genuine new purchases according to Rhys Elliott from Alinea Analytics.

Analysis reveals that 82 percent of players experienced the original Dying Light while 77 percent played the sequel. The Beast dominated Steam's weekly sales rankings alongside strong performances from other major releases. Borderlands 4 accumulated 337,000 additional units beyond its two million sales milestone. Hollow Knight: Silksong generated 255,000 extra copies after reaching five million total purchases.

Fresh releases performed exceptionally well during the same period. No, I'm Not Human debuted with 200,000 copies sold while Jump Space surpassed EA Sports FC 26 on Steam. Hades crossed nine million units after selling 150,000 copies through promotional pricing ahead of Hades 2's upcoming launch.
