ADAM Audio has added two DSP subs, Sub8 PRO and Sub10 PRO, to its studio monitor range. A free app called ADAM Control also joins the lineup. It aims to handle setup and tuning for the brand's network-ready monitors, both old and new.
The Sub8 PRO uses an 8-inch driver, while its larger sibling gets a 10-inch one. Each has a paper cone with added fiber for strength, along with a soft rubber surround. That lets the cone move farther while keeping bass tight and under control.
Even the air ports got some extra care. Their shape helps air flow at a steady rate with less turbulence. DSP takes care of EQ, crossovers, and filters. That helps both subs keep their bass response in check as pitch and volume change.
For Dolby Atmos work, LFE mode sets a custom cutoff. Wide mode lets the sub use its full range. There's also a bypass jack on the back, which lets a footswitch turn bass management off or back on. Analog line inputs sit next to an AES3 port that takes 24-bit digital audio at 96 kHz max.
Ethernet gives users access to ADAM Control. The app takes over from A Control and lets them tweak gain, phase, delay, and EQ. Stereo and multichannel rigs get support, with A Series monitors and Sub PRO models both part of the setup.
Room tuning has two paths. Users can make each change by hand for free, or use Sonarworks SoundID Reference to automate the job. And there's a neat deal for A Series and Sub PRO users. They get a 60-day trial, with 25% off if they buy a full SoundID Reference license.
Both subs are available for sale. The Sub8 PRO costs £829.99 or €999.99, while the Sub10 PRO goes for £1,129.99 or €1,299.99. VAT is already part of those prices.
