Gov. Ademola Adeleke promised to keep looking after Osun State workers during his May Day speech in Osogbo. He told the crowd he understands their struggles with high living costs. The state has cut old debts almost in half without taking new loans, according to the Debt Management Office.
"We feel your pain as a government that remains committed to your welfare," Adeleke said to workers. His team approved more than N4 billion for retired staff—N2.17 billion for state retirees and N2.09 billion for local government pensioners. The state already paid all workers' April 2025 salaries. They also started the 2025 promotion exercises for eligible civil servants.
Adeleke mentioned the state has kept paying the new minimum wage. His government also cleared leftover salary deductions from previous leaders. The governor said proper worker training remains a main focus. The state has brought new life to local businesses through better economic policies.
