Adventists Hijack North Malawi Airwaves Online

Adventist North Malawi Radio went live on April 26 as the North Malawi Conference of Seventh-day Adventists expanded into digital broadcasting. NMC President Pastor Mabvuto Chipeta launched the online station at conference offices, calling it a stepping stone toward FM broadcasting. The church hopes this platform will help spread gospel messages to people who cannot attend services. Equipment came from Adventist World Radio, a worldwide ministry focused on media evangelism.

Church members can tune in through the A2Z App or the Radio Box platforms. About 50 communicators from northern Malawi districts trained alongside the launch event. They learned program production, digital evangelism, ethical communication rules, and storytelling methods. Felistus Tanandani Gama from Nkhata-Bay Central Church said she gained valuable skills during the sessions. All participants received certificates after completing their training.

The event centered on the theme "I Will Go: Proclaiming Hope, Transforming Lives from Broadcast to Baptism." Malawi Union Conference Communication Director Emily Egolet Banda praised the online station as a smart first step before FM licensing through MACRA. Church leaders expect the station will reach remote areas where traditional outreach faces challenges. They believe both skilled broadcasters and faithful listeners will support the future FM station.
