Ahsan Iqbal's ministry now just a CPEC branch office for Beijing

Federal Minister Professor Ahsan Iqbal led a crucial governmental session in Islamabad focused on Pakistan-China economic partnerships. Chinese specialists had compiled recommendations addressing connectivity infrastructure, agricultural advancement, Gwadar Port initiatives, and technology partnerships. Planning Secretary Owais Manzoor Samra joined other senior officials from various departments and the CPEC Secretariat during deliberations. The Pakistan Institute of Development Economics Vice Chancellor and Chief Economist participated alongside ministry representatives. This gathering represented a significant advancement in bilateral strategic cooperation.

Chinese expert delegations had previously visited Pakistan and submitted their findings through diplomatic channels. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif directed the Planning Ministry to establish ten specialized federal working groups. These teams developed sector-specific strategies responding to Chinese proposals and recommendations. Each working group addressed particular areas of potential collaboration between the two nations. Ministries delivered comprehensive progress reports during the ministerial session.

Iqbal directed all participating ministries to prepare thorough responses addressing Chinese expert suggestions. The CPEC Secretariat will consolidate these departmental replies into a unified communication for Chinese counterparts. Officials emphasized accelerating initiatives where China had already demonstrated cooperative interest. The minister stressed the importance of formally documenting Pakistan's achievements in collaborative sectors. This strategic meeting strengthened the foundation for enhanced economic integration between both countries.
