Airtel Masaza Cup Unites 18 Buganda Counties

Airtel Uganda and the Buganda Kingdom started the 21st Airtel Masaza Cup football tournament today. The launch happened at Bulange in Kampala and celebrated how the competition brings communities together. The tournament helps discover young football talent from across the region. People have watched this grassroots competition for twenty years as it showcases culture and sports.

Som Soumendra leads Airtel Uganda and spoke about the partnership during the event. He said the company feels proud to work with the Buganda Kingdom on this tournament. The competition gives young athletes from local areas a chance to show their skills. Soumendra believes the tournament helps these players dream of better futures in football.

Airtel created special Masaza Bundles for fans who want to stay connected during the games. The bundles contain data, text messages, and phone minutes that work for 30 days. Customers can buy these packages through phone codes, apps, or by sharing with others. The bundles help fans talk to friends and family about the matches.

Charles Peter Mayiga serves as Katikkiro of Buganda and thanked Airtel for supporting the tournament. He said the competition brings all 18 counties together to celebrate their shared culture. The tournament gives young people valuable opportunities to develop their football abilities. Mayiga asked kingdom subjects to come support their counties during the matches.

The first game will happen in Masaka between Buddu county and Gomba county teams.
