Ali unveils Guyana Cabinet, taps new faces and youth for key roles

President Mohamed Irfaan Ali administered the oath to his new Cabinet members at State House during Saturday evening ceremonies. The leader emphasized that national success depends on the entire People's Progressive Party/Civic candidate roster rather than just ministers and parliamentarians. Ali described the election slate as technically skilled individuals who will support government operations at multiple levels. The administration plans to integrate non-parliamentary candidates into technical and policy positions to accelerate transformation. Government service delivery will rely on collective efforts from this broader team rather than Cabinet members alone.

Seven fresh appointees joined the executive branch, while three new ministries emerged to enhance the service delivery focus. Key portfolio reassignments shifted several senior ministers to different departments as part of the restructuring effort. Experienced hands retained their positions to maintain governmental continuity alongside the renewal process. Ali warned that the upcoming five-year term will prove decisive for Guyana's future development. The president stressed accountability and measurable outcomes as primary standards for administrative performance evaluation.
