The Value Chain Development Programme partnered with the Nigerian Meteorological Agency to deliver weather forecasts to smallholder farmers across nine states. Dr Fati Aliyu announced this collaboration during equipment distribution ceremonies in Minna, Niger State. The partnership established mini weather stations in local government areas that provide forecasts in native languages. Farmers use this information to make better agricultural decisions while adapting to climate change effects.
The ASAP grant distributed specialized equipment to 45 beneficiaries throughout nine Niger State local government areas. Recipients received cassava peel conversion machines, rice husk briquette machines, solar irrigation pumps, power tillers, and communication devices.
