ANC hails Sedibeng win as struggling Vaal waits for jobs

The African National Congress installed fresh leadership at its Sedibeng Regional Conference held at the ANEW Hotel in Benoni, with Mlungisi Hlongwane assuming the chairperson position alongside deputy Sibongile Soxuza and regional secretary Jason Mkhwane. Gauteng delegates adopted resolutions targeting industrial revitalization in the Vaal area through investment attraction and business expansion, aiming to combat factory shutdowns and joblessness plaguing the manufacturing heartland.

Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula wrapped proceedings by urging stronger policy engagement ahead of the national gathering scheduled for December, while Premier Panyaza Lesufi launched discussions under the banner of building people's power toward an inclusive regional economy. The three-day assembly demonstrated disciplined participation from attendees who focused commission work on organizational renewal and service delivery improvements for communities struggling with economic decline.
