ANC slams Trump over boycott, race claims at G20

The African National Congress has issued a strong condemnation of recent statements by United States President Donald Trump, describing them as factually incorrect and racially divisive. ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula stated that the claims, which alleged persecution of white South Africans, represent a deliberate distortion of the country's democratic reality for political gain. He characterized South Africa as a constitutional democracy committed to the rule of law and the rights of all its citizens.

President Trump had announced a United States boycott of the upcoming G20 Summit in Johannesburg, justifying the decision with unfounded allegations of government-sponsored discrimination. The South African government rejected this rationale, affirming that the summit would proceed as planned with a focus on global solidarity and development.

The ANC's response further accused Trump of a consistent pattern of aligning with prejudiced viewpoints and called on the international community to support Africa's right to self-determination. The party affirmed it would not be influenced by foreign interference.
