Angry Croc on Lake Edward Kills Fisherman

A 30-year-old fisherman died after a vicious crocodile attack on Lake Edward in Kasese district, Uganda. Andres Mumbere from Rwenjubu Ward was fishing on April 19 when the predator struck suddenly. Fellow fishermen heard his cry for help but couldn't reach him in time.

Police recovered Mumbere's body with significant portions missing, confirming the fatal encounter. Local authorities warned fishermen to avoid known crocodile breeding zones along the lake's shores. The incident echoes a similar fatal attack last October when another fisherman, Kule Felex Gaddafi, was killed in the same area.

Regional police spokesperson Nelson Tumushime stated that marine units will continue patrolling the lake to protect fishermen and prevent illegal fishing activities. Authorities strongly advise the fishing community to exercise extreme caution when working near potential crocodile habitats.
