Anika debuts new song Walk Away from album Abyss

Anika opens her newest song, Walk Away, with honest words about not liking herself or other people. This catchy tune appears on her upcoming record Abyss after she released Hearsay earlier. The musician from Berlin speaks about things many feel scared to say because society might reject these thoughts. Her lyrics address mental health problems during these crazy times full of division, isolation, social media drama, wars, disease, and growing right-wing movements.

She breaks down feminine topics usually kept behind closed doors. Anika found inspiration from the nineties and early two thousand Hole and Courtney Love music that spoke bluntly without caring about offending listeners or facing backlash. She believes we have lost spaces where people can argue respectfully and accept different viewpoints instead of removing disagreeable folks from our online circles.

Laura Martinova shot the music video inside what used to be a brothel. The video challenges standard ideas about being feminine, sexuality, and sexual limits. Her character seems totally fine by herself with sexual and social freedom - though somewhat messy, breaking apart the perfect wife image. This woman lives wildly, shows her anger, appears drunk, and enjoys cleaning pictures of naked ladies.

She lives freely despite rules made by men throughout history. The guy never catches her or even comes close throughout the entire video. He keeps searching, but she always manages to stay ahead of him. Anika created a character who escapes the usual traps and constraints that society places on women. Her independence shines through every scene as she refuses to follow expected behavior patterns.
