AOTECH drops offline NVMe cloner with sanitize modes

AOTECH just built a cloning station for nerds who hate using actual computers. The company released the AOK-NVMERCL-20G to handle drive migration and data retirement without needing a host PC to manage the process. Users simply plug in a source drive and a target stick before hitting the copy button.

Service desks might actually use this thing since it operates at the drive level. That means it copies partitions and system areas instead of just dragging files around. Just remember that the destination SSD needs equal or larger capacity to avoid corrupting the entire operation during the transfer.

Data sanitization features include four distinct erase modes for wiping sensitive info. Options range from a quick zap to a three-pass overwrite that scrubs everything clean. The device even processes two installed drives simultaneously to speed up batch handling for anyone drowning in old hardware.

Connecting it to a rig turns the unit into standard external storage. It supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 with theoretical speeds hitting 20 Gbps over Type-C. Note that plugging into USB4 ports might throttle performance down to 10 Gbps due to backward compatibility weirdness.

Power comes from an included AC adapter rather than the bus. The box supports common NVMe lengths from 2230 up to 22110. It plays nice with Windows 11 and macOS while packing a simple cable in the box.
