Aurangzeb maps new Pakistan-US trade with envoy Horst in Islamabad

Elizabeth Horst, the United States Chargé d'Affaires, visited Pakistan's Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Thursday. The officials met at the Ministry of Finance to strengthen bilateral ties between their nations. Aurangzeb thanked America for supporting Pakistan's economic stability during the previous eighteen months. The minister described his recent Washington meetings with Commerce Secretary Howard Luttnick and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer as productive discussions. Both leaders emphasized expanding cooperation beyond traditional sectors into technology, minerals, and agricultural development.

Pakistan seeks broader engagement with its largest trading partner through diverse economic partnerships. Aurangzeb presented improved macroeconomic data and enhanced credit ratings to demonstrate growing investor confidence. The government continues implementing taxation and energy reforms to achieve sustainable economic growth. Pakistan recently entered Middle Eastern capital markets and plans to launch its first Panda Bond. Future initiatives will target European and American dollar markets for additional funding opportunities.

Horst praised Pakistan's economic achievements and reform policies during their discussion. The American diplomat reaffirmed Washington's commitment to supporting Pakistan's political and economic stability. Both representatives expressed optimism about future trade relationships between their countries.
