Aussies yawn their way to another win in Kigali

Australia captured their second consecutive mixed relay time trial championship at the UCI road world championships held in Kigali on Wednesday. The six-member squad completed the 41.8-kilometer course in 54 minutes and 30.47 seconds. France secured second place, finishing five seconds behind the victorious Australian team, while Switzerland claimed the bronze medal. This marked the sole competition held during the fourth day of racing at the first African-hosted world championships in the event's 104-year history.

Dutch teenagers dominated junior competition on Tuesday as eighteen-year-olds Michiel Mouris and Megan Arens claimed individual time trial victories. Mouris navigated the 22.6-kilometer men's course in 29 minutes and 7.61 seconds between BK Arena and Kigali Convention Centre. Arens completed her 18.3-kilometer women's race in 25 minutes and 47.41 seconds at an average speed exceeding 42 kilometers per hour. Elite road races conclude the championships this weekend, featuring Tour de France champions Pauline Ferrand-Prevost and Tadej Pogacar.
