Averina sisters trapped as coach blocks rivals from Worlds

Rhythmic gymnast Dina Averina clarified allegations surrounding her participation at the World Championships alongside twin sister Arina after both athletes announced retirement plans. Legendary coach Irina Viner personally contacted the siblings and insisted they represent Russia at the global competition rather than sending replacement athletes Lala Kramarenko and Dasha Trubnikova, despite the twins arriving with farewell flowers and requesting their coach select fresher competitors dealing with fewer injury concerns.

The 27-year-old performer revealed Kramarenko initiated false whispers suggesting the Averina sisters demanded exclusive participation rights that blocked other gymnasts from competing. Witnesses confirmed Viner independently decided only Olympic participants would defend Russian honor at Worlds while reserving newer athletes for upcoming competitions under revised regulations.
