Azerbaijan bought nearly 19,000 kilograms of gold valued at $1.7 billion from January through March 2025. Russia sold the most gold to Azerbaijan, with 4,416 kilograms worth $403 million. Other major sellers included Australia, Britain, Mexico, and Canada during this three-month period. Zimbabwe sent gold to Azerbaijan for the first time since 2011, selling just over 12 kilograms worth $1.1 million. Romania also became a new gold supplier with a small shipment of 13 kilograms.

Switzerland remained the only buyer of Azerbaijani gold during early 2025. The Swiss purchased 1,014 kilograms worth $65 million, which almost tripled the amount from last year.
