Sanjida Akhter used to be one of Bangladesh's top female soccer players. The midfielder just came back from Bhutan and started taking coaching classes. She wants to learn how to train other players after she stops playing professionally. Sanjida joined three other women at the BFF House for an important coaching course. The program will teach her advanced skills for managing teams.
The soccer star already finished two other coaching programs a few years back. She earned her basic certificate during 2020 and another license during 2021. Sanjida loves the sport and never wants to leave it completely behind. The current course has 24 students and wraps up on July 16th. Another training session will start when August arrives.
Sanjida plays for a team called Thimphu City located in Bhutan. She must travel back there soon for a big game against Paro FC. Two other Bangladeshi women named Sabina and Ritu Porna will play against her during that match. The competition should be exciting for all three players from the same country.
The athlete caused some drama when she complained about British coach Peter Butler. Eighteen other players joined her protest against the foreign trainer. Butler kicked Sanjida off the national team before important qualifying matches. He said she was out of shape and not playing well enough.
Sanjida feels happy that Bangladesh's women's team has improved on the international stage. The squad achieved their dreams of competing successfully against Asian rivals. She accepts missing out on recent tournaments and does not hold grudges about the situation.
