Barca's Nico chase crashes into money wall

Barcelona faces two major roadblocks when trying to sign Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams. The Spanish giants really want the winger at Camp Nou this summer. Williams wants to join Barcelona and would even take less money to make it happen. However, Mundo Deportivo says Barcelona has serious problems that could stop this move. The club still thinks Liverpool's Luis Diaz should be their top choice for the left wing spot.

Getting Diaz from Liverpool looks almost impossible right away. The Premier League winners have zero plans to sell their Colombian star. Even if Liverpool changes their mind, they would want at least 60 million euros. Williams has a release clause worth 58 million euros that jumps to 64 million with inflation added. Barcelona struggles with how to structure these payments despite Williams being ready to cut his wages.
