Benny Jay releases gritty video for rock anthem Hang On

Melbourne musician Benny Jay released his new music video for the song Hang On on January 15th. The rock artist moved to Los Angeles and filmed the video around downtown train yards and bridges. He originally wanted to shoot the video around New York City but changed plans due to money and time limits. The video shows Benny Jay standing with arms stretched out near the LA River dam area. Bright colors fill the screen as he celebrates finishing the whole project himself.

The video tells a story about people from all parts of America dealing with life problems. Benny Jay included workers, dreamers, kids and older people to show how everyone faces tough times. He filmed most scenes with a local camera person during one day. The musician edited all the footage himself and mixed other clips he found online. He wanted to create something that connects people from different backgrounds.

Benny Jay recorded the song using old-school analog equipment at his home studio. He wrote, produced, mixed and mastered everything without help from other people. The rock sound comes from his love of bands like Bon Jovi and Guns N Roses from the late 1980s. Hang On serves as the title track for his upcoming album with 12 songs total. Each song will come out separately during 2025 before the full album drops around Christmas time.
