Berlin-based Aim Audio has begun distributing its debut studio microphone collection after appearing at NAMM 2024. The company brings microphone manufacturing back to Germany through experienced audio professionals who founded the brand. Audio engineers can choose between the multi-pattern INSPIRE model and the cardioid ESSENCE microphone.
Both microphones feature Aim's patented switchable output stages that alternate between transformer and electronic modes. Custom-wound toroidal transformers and hand-assembled capsules undergo testing at the Berlin facility. The INSPIRE offers five polar patterns with reversible capsule direction while the ESSENCE provides integrated peak-level metering.
The ORBIT shock mount complements both microphones with its 190-degree adjustable clamp system. Aim Audio prices the INSPIRE package at 829 euros, the ESSENCE at 629 euros, and the ORBIT mount at 89 euros. Global distribution begins in late September through dealers and the company website.
