BFUJ's Quader Gani calls for truth at Gazipur press club

Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Secretary General Quader Gani Chowdhury addressed media professionals at Gazipur Press Club during a Sunday discussion. The event focused on journalism's function in constructing a transformed Bangladesh following July 24. Fighting misinformation represents the greatest obstacle facing reporters today, according to Chowdhury. He called upon media workers to maintain honesty, bravery, and commitment to unbiased coverage. Society depends on media as its reflection while journalists function as public guardians.

Truth revelation and injustice exposure form essential duties for news professionals, Chowdhury explained. Reporters must condemn corruption, violence, kidnapping, child exploitation, sexual assault, and human rights abuses. Professional standards rest on three foundations which are integrity, neutrality, and competence. Political bias should never influence journalistic work as facts require objective presentation. Chowdhury referenced Thomas Jefferson's preference for newspapers over government when forced to choose between them.

Gazipur Press Club President Khandaker Golam Sarwar chaired the gathering. Journalist Mazharul Islam Masum facilitated the discussion. Municipal officials and veteran reporters attended the program.
