Bishop calls Ruto's church critics anti-Christ at State House

President William Ruto faced fresh support for his controversial State House church construction proposal from Bishop Samuel Ngacha. The religious leader branded project critics as opponents of Christ during a Wednesday gathering at the presidential residence. Ngacha addressed evangelical and indigenous Christian church representatives who met with Ruto. The bishop dismissed public opposition while defending the planned religious facility. His remarks intensified ongoing national discussions about the project.

State House already contains two iron sheet worship structures serving Catholic and Protestant communities, according to Ngacha. The bishop characterized Ruto's vision as a simple upgrade rather than new construction. He questioned the motives of vocal opponents who resist establishing a proper altar. Ngacha referenced biblical passages about disciples who challenged others to perform good works. The religious leader suggested that genuine Christians should support rather than oppose the initiative.

Colonial era precedent exists for religious activities at the presidential compound, Ngacha argued. Historical visitors once prayed for British governors within the same grounds. The bishop emphasized Kenya's Christian heritage while defending the proposal's legitimacy. Ruto has consistently described his plans as modernizing existing worship facilities. Public debate continues dividing supporters who back the president and critics who question using government resources for religious purposes.
