BlueARP v2.8 fixes guitar mode and adds new black theme

OMG Instruments released version 2.8.0 of BlueARP, their free arpeggiator plugin. This update addresses critical bugs and introduces substantial feature enhancements.

The release resolves several VST3-related issues that previously affected preset handling and program change notifications. Guitar mode improvements include fixes for chord voicing problems when using the capo parameter and corrections for inverted chord structures like m7.

The developers revamped the key-based restart logic, making it more predictable with quantization measures. Users will notice the reorganized operation mode list, which places arp, fixed arp, drum mode, and guitar mode in a streamlined sequence. The update maintains compatibility with existing projects through internal conversion routines, though projects using automated operation mode parameters might need adjustments.

Guitar mode received significant attention with updated chuck strumming settings. The previous octave and channel options have been replaced by chuck mode and chuck value parameters. The update introduces compressed bank storage, reducing file sizes by approximately 71 percent. Users can experience the new "Robert P: Midnight" black color scheme.

Technical improvements include corrected timing for 1/12 sync options and refined step calculations in chains, especially when handling dotted time signatures. The arpeggiator state parameter features a new "OFF / CC thru" option, maintaining CC pass-through settings when the arpeggiator remains inactive.

Additional enhancements include polyphonic mode options for single string lanes in Guitar mode and refined chord voicing for various chord types. The plugin incorporates embedded factory banks for Drum and Guitar modes, automatically loading appropriate presets when switching operation modes.

OMG Instruments cautions users about the incremented patch format level. Though the system should convert previous projects successfully, users should verify project functionality before committing to the update, as version 2.8.0 files cannot be loaded in earlier versions. The company has updated the user manual with detailed information about Guitar and Drum mode parameters.
