BNP goes full nostalgia mode at Ziaur Rahman’s grave

BNP members gathered to honor their founding figure. Party leaders and members placed wreaths at the mausoleum of Ziaur Rahman, located in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. They offered prayers and remembered his life. Attendees repeated a commitment to his political vision for the nation.

Ziaur Rahman was born in Bagbari village within Bogura’s Gabtali area. His father, Mansur Rahman, worked as a chemist. The family relocated to Karachi. He later trained as a military officer at the Pakistan Military Academy.

Ziaur Rahman is viewed as a key proponent of Bangladeshi nationalism. He founded the multi-party BNP. His political legacy continued under his spouse, Begum Khaleda Zia. She led the party and served multiple terms as the nation’s prime minister.

His military service included combat in the Khemkaran sector. He also acted as a sector commander during the Liberation War. His leadership brought the country greater global recognition. Followers credit him with patriotism and integrity.
