Body found after flash flood sweeps car in Isiolo

Rescuers found Paul Gitonga dead after flash floods swept him away at KMC Bridge during heavy rain on Friday. His body appeared downstream in Lowangishu on Sunday. Teams keep searching for another man missing from the same incident. The car belonged to a local MCA heading toward Isiolo when disaster struck. Police confirmed three people tried crossing the flooded bridge near a police station.

The vehicle traveled almost two kilometers downstream before workers recovered it completely damaged. Emergency crews rescued many people trapped inside homes at Safi Estate. Officials are currently checking how many animals died because of these floods. Response teams stay ready as rain continues falling across the region. Governor Abdi Guyo said the floods hurt families in several areas.

The county government promises help for everyone affected. Workers rescue stranded people, move families to safety, and give out food supplies. Everyone living in flood zones must remain careful. Teams report all damage to plan recovery efforts. The government prepares temporary houses, medical care, food support, and road repairs. Weather experts say rainstorms will continue through the weekend in northeastern counties like Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa.
