Car Swept Away in Isiolo Floods Two Still Missing

Floods swept away a vehicle carrying three people in Isiolo on Friday evening. Only one person escaped through the window as water carried the car downstream. Police spokesperson Michael Muchiri said the incident happened at the KMC Bridge when they tried crossing near a police station. Authorities found the damaged vehicle almost 2 kilometers away. They continue searching for Paul Gitonga, the driver, along with Rajuel Lemantile.

The car belonged to local MCA David Lemantile. Rescue teams helped trapped residents from Safi Estate reach safer ground. Officials currently assess livestock losses from these flash floods. Emergency teams remain ready as heavy rain continues throughout the region. The Kenya Meteorological Department warns of more storms coming.

Weather experts predict continued showers across northeastern Kenya for the weekend. Areas like Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa will face heavy rainfall. The highlands west of the Rift Valley might see afternoon storms. Lake Victoria Basin counties should prepare for downpours. Weather alerts cover places such as Kisumu, Siaya, Nakuru, and many other western areas.
