Borno speaker fumes as APC forgets Shettima on banner

The Borno State House of Assembly Speaker just called out organizers for leaving Vice President Kashim Shettima off a banner at an APC gathering in the North East. Abdulkarim Lawan noticed the promotional display had President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, five APC governors from the region, and the party's National Legal Adviser, but Shettima's face was nowhere to be found.

Lawan ripped into the snub during the event, calling it totally unfair since the whole thing went down in Maiduguri, which happens to be where Shettima is from. He warned this type of mess creates serious drama, pointing back to how a similar screwup wrecked an APC meeting in Gombe last year.

The Speaker said the exact same problem blew up the Gombe event, and here it is happening again in Borno. He admitted he had no clue what the organizers were thinking, but he made it clear their decision was completely wrong.

Lawan threw out the question of how anyone could possibly justify cutting out the sitting vice president who represents both Borno and the entire North East region. The crowd at the venue backed him hard with massive applause.

APC governors and other party heavyweights had rolled into Maiduguri for a North East zonal public hearing session focused on proposed changes to the party's constitution.
