BoT schools uni students on money, power, and shilling vibes

Tanzania's central bank just gave a bunch of college kids a crash course in running the economy. The Bank of Tanzania hosted over two hundred students from universities, including UDSM, MUM, and the Institute of Finance Management. Officials laid out its core gig of managing monetary policy and safeguarding the shilling's value.

The session covered the bank's oversight of financial institutions and its push for innovation. Promoting access to Islamic banking services was another discussed function. These efforts aim to boost sector efficiency and broaden financial inclusion across the country.

Students reportedly got stoked about learning directly from the central bank's experts. They said the visit expanded their grasp of economic issues and sparked a desire to dig deeper into finance topics.

The initiative is part of the Bank of Tanzania's drive to strengthen public economic literacy. Focusing on youth studying related fields aims to build a pipeline of professionals who get how financial systems fuel national development.
