Brendan Taylor smashes century, Harare in tears

Brendan Taylor scored 123 runs off 54 balls at Harare Sports Club on Sunday, marking his first T20 century at age 39. The performance represented Zimbabwe's second T20I century after Sikandar Raza's 133 against The Gambia in 2024, and Taylor became the oldest Full Member player to achieve a men's T20I hundred. The veteran returned to international cricket after completing a three-and-a-half-year ban for violating ICC anti-corruption regulations.

Zimbabwe defeated Botswana by 170 runs, securing a semi-final berth in the Africa Qualifiers for the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. Taylor departed the field late with hamstring tightness, and Tadiwanashe Marumani replaced him as wicketkeeper during Botswana's chase. Zimbabwe faces Tanzania on Tuesday morning in their final group match before Thursday's semi-final.
