Bulawayo buzz as ZITF rolls into town

The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair starts today, and Bulawayo city buzzes as people finish their preparations yesterday. This year, the focus is on improving the way industries work together across the whole economy. All spaces fill up fast with extra areas needed for companies in manufacturing, mining, energy, computers, and farming services. People rush around the Exhibition Centre, putting the final touches on their displays before visitors arrive.

President Mnangagwa will walk through the fair, talking to exhibitors about their new ideas. Mozambique President Daniel Chapo comes Friday as a special guest, showing strong friendship between both countries. They already work together on energy projects, the Beira Corridor, which helps Zimbabwe sell goods overseas. Many business meetings happen this week, with rural development talks tomorrow alongside speed networking events for buyers.

The main business conference happens on Wednesday, with Vice-President Chiwenga leading discussions about strengthening industries again. Countries from all over the world joined this year—thirty nations total from Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Small businesses benefit greatly from meeting international partners during the fair. Bulawayo Mayor David Coltart believes this event helps make his city smarter and more sustainable for future generations.
