Celeste Rivas' death probe continues, no charges filed yet

Los Angeles authorities continue examining the death of teenager Celeste Rivas after her remains were found inside a Tesla belonging to musician d4vd, though investigators have yet to establish how she died or whether criminal activity occurred. The police department stated on November 6 that concealing the body represents the sole potential offense identified thus far, with no suspects named and no evidence pointing to foul play.

Legal analyst Alison Triessl noted that California law treats hiding an accidental death as a misdemeanor carrying penalties of up to 12 months in county jail and a $10,000 fine. Prosecutors must prove active concealment efforts rather than mere failure to report, she explained. The Los Angeles County District Attorney has received no case filing related to the matter, and officials emphasized their commitment to determining facts and providing answers to the family while the investigation proceeds.
