The fighting got very bad this week. Streets were blocked, and some people broke into stores. A lot of people even broke out of jail in the capital city, Maputo. Sadly, 134 people died during these protests. The total number of deaths since the election has reached 261.
Chapo spoke up after the country's top court said he won. He said the fighting happened in several big cities, such as Maputo, Matola, Beira, and Nampula. He warned that this fighting made life harder for everyone and put more people out of work.
The Frelimo party has run Mozambique since 1975, when the country became free from Portugal. But many young people support Venancio Mondlane, who leads the other side. People from other countries who watched the election said they saw some things that weren't right. The court still said Chapo won with 65 out of every 100 votes.
Many scared families ran away to the next country, Malawi. More than 2,000 families crossed the border to feel safe. They need help with food and other things. Other African leaders want to help fix the problems because many countries need Mozambique's ports. For example, Zimbabwe gets its fuel through Mozambique.
