Chatunga Mugabe Granted Bail After Violent Assaults in Mazowe

Robert Mugabe's son walked free from court after spending one night behind bars. Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe paid just 200 American dollars to escape jail on Tuesday. The 28-year-old faces serious charges for beating up workers near his family's land. Police arrested him for two separate attacks that left victims with broken bones and head injuries. His release came after magistrates heard shocking details about the violent incidents.

Chatunga and his bodyguards attacked five security guards at Ultimate Mine on June 25. The men used wooden logs and metal bars to beat the workers senseless. They poured water on one victim after smashing his head with an iron rod. Another guard suffered multiple beatings with batons and pipes. The assault left several men with fractured skulls and damaged backs.

Days later on June 30, Chatunga struck again at a local school. He slapped groundsman Jorum Ngirazi and destroyed the man's expensive phone. The attack happened when Ngirazi asked about borrowing a truck for mining work. Bodyguards joined the beating after grabbing the worker by his shirt collar. The victim reported severe headaches following the incident.

Police questioned Chatunga about the mine assault at Mazowe Station. He bragged about being the real president's son during the interview. The young man claimed nobody could touch him because of his powerful family connections. Court papers show he must report to police every week and stay away from witnesses. Three separate hearings await him next month.
