A top Chinese official recently said that wisdom, adaptability, and transformation matter most when building better business ties between China and Zimbabwe.
Mr. Huang Minghai from the Chinese Embassy in Harare shared these thoughts at a party held by First Capital Bank. The event celebrated Chinese New Year a bit late this year. He praised how Chinese businesses and local Zimbabwe institutions keep growing closer together.
Mr. Huang called the bond between the China Chamber of Commerce in Zimbabwe and First Capital Bank a sign that both sides want stronger economic connections. He mentioned the party celebrated not just Chinese New Year but also the trust and teamwork between their countries. He promised that the Chamber would keep helping its members build good relationships with Zimbabwe partners.
The bank's leader, Mr. Tapera Mushoriwa, discussed how Chinese companies make big differences in Zimbabwe's manufacturing, mining, farming, phone services, and transportation sectors. He said his bank understands that Chinese businesses need special banking options, easy cash access, clear currency rules, and help with international money transfers. Mr. Mushoriwa pointed out that his bank can handle transactions using the Chinese yuan plus many other world currencies.
The Chinese Lunar New Year for 2025 happened on January 29, with celebrations lasting through February 12.
