Chiredzi vendor feeds 22 orphans

Ndidzulafhi Moyo helps many children who need homes. This 54-year-old widow from Chiredzi takes care of 22 kids. She sells vegetables at the local market. She sees something special in street children—their pain, but also their hope for better lives. She talks with them to learn their stories before bringing them home.

She understands loss deeply after three of her six biological children died. Her husband passed away last year, leaving her with grandchildren to raise alone. These experiences taught her about maternal love. Her small house buzzes with activity as 22 plates wait on the table each evening.

She received training as a community child care worker through government programs with UNICEF. When babies are abandoned, she reports to the police and social services first. She makes sure each child gets proper documents. Among her children are twins Enock and Victoria, who lost their parents young.

Both twins want to become engineers. Ndidzulafhi worries about meeting everyone's needs but remains hopeful. She dreams the twins will finish school and attend university despite their difficult start in life.
