Chittagong University revamps CUCSU as Kamal Uddin axes posts

Chittagong University officials have restructured the Central Students' Union constitution through significant administrative changes. Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin, who serves as Pro-Vice Chancellor for administration and heads the constitution drafting committee, revealed the modifications this afternoon. The university eliminated four joint secretary positions while establishing four specialized secretarial roles to address the contemporary needs of students. Administrative leaders created positions for Social Service and Environment Affairs, Law and Human Rights Affairs, Library and Cafeteria Affairs, Liberation War and Democratic Movement Affairs, and Career Development and International Affairs. The total number of union posts remains at 28 despite these structural adjustments.

Election preparations advance rapidly as the university prepares for its first student union contest since February 8, 1990. Officials will publish the final voter list today and distribute nomination papers from September 14 through September 15. Candidates must pay fees of 300 taka for central union positions and 200 taka for hall union roles while submitting applications by September 17.
