Acting Auditor General Rheah Kujinga discovered that 42 Chitungwiza Council properties operate without valid rental agreements or payment records in her 2024 financial report. The investigation revealed a Zengeza 4 butchery listed as vacant in municipal records while a tenant occupied the space without compensation. Kujinga recommended legal proceedings against unauthorized occupants after identifying inadequate lease management controls at the municipality.
