CITIC lectures Myanmar on its shaky port project

CITIC Myanmar hosted maritime researchers from both countries at Yangon's Wyndham Grand Hotel Wednesday. The conference examined port development challenges and disaster preparedness strategies for Myanmar's coastal infrastructure. Academic experts analyzed seismic risks facing facilities along the earthquake-prone region. Representatives discussed methods for strengthening port resilience against natural disasters.

Ma Chuanfu from CITIC Myanmar explained the company's commitment to sustainable development at Kyaukpyu Deepsea Port. Myanmar Port Authority Chief Engineer U Nay Myo Nyunt opened the technical sessions. Dr Saw Nu Sandar Thein of Myanmar Maritime University joined Chinese Professor Dr Lin Shangfei from Hohai University in presenting research findings. The collaboration aims to enhance Myanmar's strategic position for Indian Ocean maritime trade.
