A Ghanaian dancehall star is about to take over a London arena, and his own godfather is showing up onstage to back him. Samuel Clottey, who runs Sam Creatives, is rallying Ghanaians across the UK, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, and the rest of Europe to pack out the OVO Arena for Stonebwoy's BHIM Festival.
His pitch was pretty simple. Everybody knows what Livingstone Etse Satekla has done for the scene, and Clottey framed it as a chance for the diaspora to make history together rather than watch from the sidelines. He also argued the reggae and Afro-fusion star deserves far bigger recognition, since he's repped Ghana on every international stage he's touched.
The guest list is stacked. Samini's coming, along with highlife veteran Ofori Amponsah, DopeNation, and Nigerian singer Mr. P, among others.
No official setlist yet, but bank on hearing stuff like Into the Future, Nominate, Overlord, Therapy, Activate, Run Go, Mightylele, Ekelebe, and Psalm 23. Thousands are expected through the doors, which would make this one of the year's biggest Ghanaian music nights abroad.
