Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel opened the renovated Bal Vatika children's park at Ahmedabad's Kankaria Lakefront on Friday. The facility received a complete transformation through a Rs 22 crore public-private partnership investment. Originally established in 1956, the park features more than 20 modern attractions that merge education with recreation. The upgraded space targets intellectual and physical development for young visitors through interactive experiences. Officials designed the venue to serve as an engaging destination for families throughout Ahmedabad.
Visitors can explore a Dinosaur Park, Snow Park, Flying Theater, Wax Museum, and Virtual Reality Zone among the new additions. Free attractions include the Coin House, air-conditioned glass house, shoe house, landscaped gardens, and Gwale Station. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's Zoo Department managed the redevelopment project. Mayor Pratibha Jain, city legislators, Deputy Mayor Jatin Patel, and Municipal Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani attended the ceremony. The historic Kankaria Lakefront dates back to the 15th century and serves as a prominent cultural hub.
