Core 9 270H Leaves i5 14500HX in the Dust

Intel released fresh computer chips that work better than older models. The new Core 9 270H processor beats the Core i5 14500HX chip during speed tests. Benchmark results show the newer chip runs 14 percent faster with single tasks. The company kept the same 14-core design but improved performance through higher clock speeds. These chips use less power at 45 watts compared to 55 watts from previous versions.

PassMark testing revealed impressive numbers for the latest processor. The Core 9 270H scored 4125 points during single-thread tests compared to 3619 points from the older model. Both chips perform similarly during multi-thread operations. The newer chip reaches maximum speeds of 5.8 gigahertz which explains the performance boost. Intel used the same manufacturing process but made the chip more efficient.

Computer makers will likely use these processors for gaming laptops and work computers. The reduced power consumption should improve battery life for mobile devices. Intel plans to release Arrow Lake Refresh chips later this year. AMD continues competing with their Zen 5 processors against Intel products. These performance improvements could help Intel regain market share from competitors.
