Aduana FC lifts Bono Cup, Chelsea left in the dust

Aduana FC just bagged some local silverware in a brand new tournament. They beat Berekum Chelsea 2-0 to win the first-ever GHALCA Regional Minister's Cup at Nana Agyeman Badu Park in Dormaa Ahenkro, Bono Region. Goals from Ben Dibe and Desmond Obeng in the second half decided the match. Captain Alex Boakye lifted the trophy, which was sponsored by Bono Regional Minister Joseph Addae Akwaboa. Both teams got medals and forty thousand Ghana cedis each for showing up. The event was put together by the Ghana League Clubs Association with the Bono Regional Coordinating Council and the Bono Regional Football Association. BA United also won an earlier game against Tano Bofoakwa by the same scoreline.

The whole thing was meant to push sports development and build community unity in the region. Minister Akwaboa said the cup stood for discipline and teamwork. A bunch of big names attended, like Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, the Dormaahene, along with MP Dickson Kyere-Duah, MCE Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, former ambassador Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, and GHALCA chairman John Kofi Ansah.

Organizers think this cup can help grow local football by giving players a stage to perform, bringing communities together, and maybe pulling in more support with competitive incentives. This first run going well means it might turn into a regular thing for the Bono Region.
